In Key Stage 3 Physical Education pupils will follow a broad and balanced programme of activities based upon the areas of experience required within the National Curriculum and enhanced by activities which are available within the High Peak as part of the extra-curricular programme. Through these experiences we will be encouraging pupils to be physically active, become confident, independent and develop positive attitudes in working with others.
All pupils at New Mills School have access to a wide range of clubs and activities are offered which meet the needs of most pupils. These activities take place at lunchtime and after school. Some of our more popular clubs include football, netball, badminton, basketball and rounders. Fixtures mainly take place after school throughout the academic year.
We enter Area competition through High Peak School Sports Association where pupils of potential can achieve and fulfil their sporting aspirations through Area, County and National representation.
Any pupils interested in becoming involved in the extra-curricular program can ask any PE staff or their form tutor for details.
