Reporting and Assessment
At New Mills School and Sixth Form, each pupil’s target grades are calculated using their Key Stage 2 results.
New Mills School is committed to setting students homework that will allow them to make the most use of their time in lessons and make the best possible educational progress.
The English Department at New Mills School currently comprises five fully qualified graduate members of staff, all dedicated to achieving the best for all students by enabling everyone to read widely with understanding and pleasure, to write accurately, neatly and imaginatively, and to speak and listen to one another with assurance, tolerance and effectiveness in a wide range of situations.
As a core subject, all students study mathematics throughout their key stages 3 and 4.
In the Creative Arts faculty we work incredibly hard to encourage and develop young people and their individual abilities and talents. All of our staff are passionate about their respective subjects and go above and beyond to foster and inspire students to be the best that they can be.
