Business & Enterprise Activities
New Mills Status as a Business and Enterprise College.
In July, 2005 the school was pleased to be awarded the Status of a Specialist College in Business & Enterprise. In 2009 this status was reconfirmed following our successful redesignation bid. The main aims of our work as a BEC school are as follows
Improve New Mills School
This will lead to better whole school GCSE and Key Stage 3 results. Also improvements will be achieved in the main three specialist subjects of Business Studies, ICT and Geography.
Support the local Primary Schools
We intend to provide ICT, Business Studies and Enterprise education support for the primary schools in and around New Mills.
Support Chapel-en-le-Frith Secondary School
We will help Chapel School to develop a GCSE in Business Studies and help them to deliver enterprise related units of work at Key Stage 3.
Support for the Wider Community
We intend to provide local individuals with training (such as the Oracle course) and businesses and other organisations with ICT, Business and Construction related support. If you wish to find out more or feel that the school may be able to help you then please get in touch.
